Ascot racecourse has been the home of Royal Ascot one of the sporting calendars most high profile occasions, since 1768. The main Grandstand recently underwent a £200 million pound redevelopment that saw Royal Ascot temporarily transferred to York Racecourse before making its return in 2007.
