A few short success stories about members of the team at Safe I.S. Ltd.
Ranging from team members in Accounts, Engineering & Sales teams, we tell the story of how / why people joined our team, their progress ever since, and why they love working for Safe I.S. Ltd.
Adam has been a member of our team since 2013. Originally his father worked on behalf of Safe I.S. and Adam followed in his footsteps. Having started his role as a fire alarm installation engineer with most of his experience being in the electrical trade, with hard work, persistence, and both internal and external training he is now a key part of our team who has developed into a Team Leader for an area of our engineering department.
In the last two years, Adam has played a vital role in training new apprentices and has successfully been part of trainee engineers developing into fully competent service engineers. His role progression makes him the ideal candidate to assist our trainee engineers, as Adam has been in this situation himself. He therefore can pass on not only his knowledge and skills but also his experiences (negative and positive) and offers a fine example of what is possible for trainee engineers.
Over the years, we have had the pleasure of seeing continued development and as Adam’s role continues to grow with the business, we look forward to seeing how he continues to flourish.
Kay found herself seeking employment after being made redundant due to the Covid pandemic. After 15 years in her previous job although she brought great experience and knowledge, she also found it very daunting to be starting something new after all this time.
Kay joined as an Accounts Assistant and quickly became part of the team with her positivity, pro-activeness and personal drive which has seen her exceed all expectations. Within a short period of time, she had shown to be a great asset to the company and was given the opportunity to develop the Accounts Team by employing a Junior Accounts Assistant.
After a few months with the business, Kay asked if her niece could complete work experience for a 2-week period. Upon completion, we were extremely pleased to offer her Niece a part time role as a Warehouse Assistant who herself continues to succeed in her role.
Kay has been an excellent addition to our tight-knit team of whom we are so proud to see her development in such a short period of time.
Kay's Comments: "What a fantastic place to work! I have been made to feel so welcome and valued. We have a great team who all care about the company and each other. All my training has been very well organised and informative. Further training courses have been offered to develop me further in my career. A place where your opinions and wellbeing matters."
Oliver joined the business in 2015 as a school leaver on an Apprenticeship Scheme, sponsored by Safe I.S. Ltd, studying Business Administration; 6 years later and he is a core part of the Sales Department.
Having completed a range of roles within the business during his time, from Engineer Assistant, Warehouse Operative & Sales Consultant, his determination, focus, and hard work have seen him succeed with every challenge.
Safe I.S. and Oliver have worked closely over the years, tailoring his training and development plan based on Oliver's needs and wants: and as they adapted the business adapted too, to provide Oliver with the opportunity to progress accordingly. In 2023, Oliver was promoted to a Department Manger role, for the Inbound Sales Team. He has been tasked with developing the department to help improve the service we offer our clients, and to date has been extremely successful in the role.
Oliver has been a proud success story of our apprenticeship scheme, we have loved being a part of his development.
Oliver's Comments:
"Before joining Safe I.S. I was unsure of how to begin my career all I knew is that I wanted an ‘opportunity’, at the age of 17 Safe I.S. gave me the tools and the support I needed to begin my journey and learn a trade.
Safe I.S.’s apprenticeship scheme allowed me to complete a Level 2 Business Administration whilst earning money for my work as a Warehouse Operative. After completing my apprenticeship course and working a further 2 years in the warehouse a role became available on the Sales Team, I saw this as the perfect chance to take the next step in my career after getting feedback about the role from management and colleagues currently working in the department.
Being part of the sales team, I can definitely say I’ve been on some leaps and bounds with a couple of curveballs mixed in but I cannot see myself being anywhere else, I enjoy working with different clients from every walk of life, companies little and large and tailoring our services to match each requirement.
What a journey I’ve been on, and I don’t even think I’ve scratched the surface yet!"
James' Comments:
From joining Safe I.S. 7 years ago all I can say it is such a great place to work.
From the beginning, all my training has been well organised and there is always an opportunity for more.
It's a lovely team to work with whether it be from service department or sales or accounts you are treated more like family rather than just an employee.
I have managed to progress to a senior team leader role which means I can help the new members of the engineering team flourish and gain the confidence to be the best they can be.
I'm hoping for many more years to come being part of this company!
