Fire Safety Assessments for Sale Businesses and Buildings

Practical Expertise From Initial Inspection to Clear Reporting

Maintaining effective fire safety arrangements starts with understanding the risks within your premises. A fire risk assessment examines potential fire hazards, considers the people who could be affected and evaluates the precautions in place to prevent fire and support safe evacuation. It also helps identify where improvements may be needed to meet your responsibilities under fire safety legislation.

Safe I.S. provides professional fire risk assessments throughout Sale, supporting business owners, landlords, managing agents and organisations responsible for a wide variety of properties. Our assessors take a considered approach to every building, examining its layout, construction, occupancy and day-to-day use to produce findings relevant to the actual risks present.

Our assessors are registered on the National Fire Risk Assessors Register (NFRAR) at Intermediate or Advanced level, and Safe I.S. is third-party accredited to BAFE SP205 as a Fire Risk Assessment Specialist. With more than 15 years of experience and thousands of assessments completed, we offer the expertise, clear reporting and practical recommendations needed to support effective fire safety management.

Fire Risk Assessments Across Sale

Local Knowledge for a Varied Property Landscape

Sale has an established town centre with a mixture of independent retailers, restaurants, offices and other public-facing businesses. The area around Sale Town Hall, Stanley Square and the surrounding shopping streets attracts regular footfall, while Sale Waterside provides a cultural and community hub. These premises have different occupancy patterns and operational requirements, making it important for fire risk assessments to reflect how individual buildings are used and how people would evacuate in an emergency.

Beyond the centre, Sale includes residential neighbourhoods, schools, healthcare premises, community facilities and commercial properties around areas such as Brooklands, Ashton upon Mersey and Sale Moor. The Bridgewater Canal and nearby transport links contribute to the area's character, while established buildings sit alongside newer developments and converted premises. Whether a property accommodates employees, residents, customers or visitors, its assessment should consider its specific construction, escape arrangements and existing fire precautions.

Sale Fire Risk Assessment FAQs

Important Information for Building Managers

Fire safety regulations can feel complicated, but we’re here to help. Below are answers to common questions about fire risk assessments.

For most non-domestic premises, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires the responsible person to carry out and regularly review a fire risk assessment. The assessment must consider fire hazards, people who may be affected and measures to eliminate or reduce risks.

An assessor should have the knowledge, training, experience and other relevant abilities needed for the premises being assessed. For more complex properties, a higher level of specialist competence may be necessary. NFRAR registration can provide additional reassurance when selecting an assessor.

There is no fixed review interval suitable for every premises. The assessment should be reviewed regularly and whenever there are significant changes to the building, occupancy, activities or fire safety arrangements, or reason to believe it is no longer valid.

Depending on the premises, the assessment may consider fire detection and warning systems, emergency lighting, fire doors, escape routes, firefighting equipment, sources of ignition, combustible materials and arrangements for people who may require assistance to evacuate.

The responsible person should review the findings, address identified deficiencies and ensure that appropriate fire safety measures are implemented and maintained. The report provides a record of the assessment and recommendations for managing the risks identified.
